Local vigils to remember Charlie Kirk joined thousands of other events across the nation over the weekend. On Saturday, a group of about 300 locals gathered at Old Mill Park in Roosevelt and on Sunday, a group of over 400 locals gathered on the lawn in front of the Uintah County Library. The events were described as patriotic and spiritual gatherings. Both crowds included all ages and many young people chose to share their feelings when given the opportunity. A common theme was the feeling of being inspired by Charlie Kirk as one who openly shared his faith in Jesus Christ and stood up for what he believed in while promoting civil discourse. Many condolences were given and hopes shared to connect with more people rather than add to the divide. BHI contributed to the patriotic nature of the Vernal event by displaying a massive American flag that waved in the wind. A local chapter of Turning Point USA is being formed. More information on that will be shared once available.
