Vernal will host a rare visitor this month and the entire community is invited to take part. The BYU-Idaho Symphony Band from Rexburg, Idaho travels all over the world to perform and this month their tour includes a stop in Vernal as well as other cities in the region including Price and Rock Springs. The group is “comprised of 41 of the university’s finest woodwind, brass, and percussion players” and their stop will include a workshop at Uintah High School and a free concert for the entire community. The concert will take place Wednesday, April 17, at the Vernal Middle School Auditorium at 7pm and will feature overtures, marches, patriotic numbers, show tunes, and sacred music. The concert is sponsored by the Vernal Utah Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who invites all in the community to come enjoy a free night of fine arts.
