Summer may feel like a lifetime away but local businesses are preparing now for a favorite summertime program. Businesses are invited to put on their thinking caps and select their activity for the popular Passport to Summer program. Vernal Chamber members are getting first choice of activities and the pool will be opened up to all businesses on February 16th. For several years the program was called Dinoland Unplugged and allowed local kids to collect “brag tags” for unplugging from devices and accomplishing fun and unique activities. Last year, the program ended the gathering of tags and instead transformed into the Passport to Summer program in which kids receive stamps in their Passports as activities are completed. Last summer, over a thousand local youth participated. Businesses interested in being on the Passport to Summer list can contact Uintah County Travel and Tourism at 781-6765 or the Vernal Chamber Office at 789-1352.
