Smoke has been visible from Highway 40 on the Buck Basin Fire located about 4 miles northwest of Currant Creek Reservoir. Utah Fire Info reported late Sunday night that the Buck Basin Fire was discovered on Saturday, July 11, and is approximately 61 acres in patches of timber located on the east side of Currant Creek Road. Resources on scene include two engines, one Type 3 helicopter, one Type 1 helicopter, and one Single Engine Air Tanker. One 20 person hand crew had also been ordered. The cause is listed as lightning. At the time of the Utah Fire Info report, there were no reported threats to structures or communities. Smoke is visible from Highway 40 and Highway 35 and surrounding areas so please do not call it in if it is smoke from the Buck Basin Fire.
