The Brown’s Park National Wildlife Refuge has provided an update on the long awaited repairs to the Brown’s Park Swinging Bridge. “Construction on the Swinging Bridge is scheduled to start in April. The exact date is weather dependent,” shares the announcement. Multiple entities are helping to fund the repairs including the state of Colorado and contributions from the BLM, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and the 7 County Infrastructure Coalition, among others. The Utah contributions are being made due to the importance of the bridge to Daggett County and in providing emergency services. The repairs are expected to run through the summer with a hopeful completion date of August 1st. During this time, shares the update, the bridge and adjacent areas including the corrals will be closed to all entry. The bridge has been awaiting repairs since June 2014 when a 10 ton tractor tried to cross and broke halfway through the bridge and sat suspended over the Green River.
