The Bureau of Land Management opened up a 30-day public comment period last week to receive public input on plans for the 2025 third quarter oil and gas lease sale which will include 11 parcels in Uintah County. “The BLM completed scoping on these parcels in March 2025 and is now seeking public comment on the parcels, potential deferrals, and the related environmental analysis,” shares the announcement. “The BLM will use input from the public to help complete its review of each parcel…All parcels that are included in a federal oil and gas lease sale include appropriate stipulations to protect important natural resources.” Comments must be submitted electronically through the BLM Land Use Planning and NEPA Register by clicking on the ‘Participate Now’ button. The comment period ends June 6th.
