With recreation developments proposed locally, the BLM Vernal Field Office is seeking public input. The proposal is to focus on balancing visitor use and protection of resources at the Doc’s Beach and Cliff Ridge recreation areas. These areas are popular for hiking, biking, off-highway vehicles and camping, drawing locals and tourists through much of the year. The proposed improvements could include trails, parking areas, restrooms, campsites, and campsite fire pits.“We look forward to receiving public input that will help us with this process,” shares BLM Vernal Field Manager Roger Bankert. “Our goal is to provide quality recreation experiences to the local community and the visiting public, while conserving and protecting the historical, cultural and natural qualities of the land.” An informational open house is scheduled for May 19th from 5:30 to 7pm at the Uintah Conference Center.
