There’s no way to know how much good can be accomplished when a community works together for a common goal. The Bureau of Land Management is hoping that the citizens in northwest Colorado and beyond will come together for the upcoming National Public Lands Day event at Cedar Mountain Special Recreation Management Area northwest of Craig. The volunteers will be helping to improve trails. “Collaboration with our local community is needed to help provide public access to public lands,” shares Gary Keeling, BLM Park Ranger. “The trails on Cedar Mountain provide access to a rugged landscape and are only possible because of the interest and hard work of volunteers.” Interested volunteers will need to register at https://routtcountyriders.org/volunteer/. Volunteers will meet at 8:30am on September 24th at the restroom trailhead facility within the Cedar Mountain Special Recreation Management Area. Work should be complete by 12:30 p.m. Participants should bring work gloves and wear boots, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt. Lunch will be provided.
