BLM Hosting Public Meetings On Wolf Creek Reservoir Situation Assessment

by | Aug 31, 2023 | News | 0 comments

Public meetings are coming up concerning the Wolf Creek Reservoir Situation Assessment report. In 2021, the Rio Blanco Water Conservancy District obtained a conditional water right decree for a 66,720 acre-feet reservoir. The District applied for a right of way for the “White River Regional Water Supply Project”, also being referred to as Wolf Creek Reservoir. In 2022, the BLM hired a third-party consultant to put together a Situation Assessment on varying perspectives concerning the project. Public meetings have now been scheduled to discuss the results in the Situation Assessment report. The first will be held at Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely on September 11th. The second will be held at the Fairfield Center in Meeker on September 12th and a virtual meeting will be held over Zoom on September 14th. Each meeting will run from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Visit eplanning.blm.gov for more information on the project.
