The Bureau of Land Management has authorized a new oil well development in northeastern Utah. The BLM Vernal Field Office issued the EA for the ‘Blue Wing Tail Oil Wells’ for three Applications for Permit to Drill for the applicant, Finley Resources Incorporated. The EA also analyzed non-surface effects of constructing supporting infrastructure, including pipelines, access roads, and a well pad with equipment on the surface outside BLM’s jurisdiction. The project location is on split estate lands approximately 10 miles southeast of Myton, within the Uintah and Ouray Reservation. The decision approving the proposed action was signed March 25th.
