The Bureau of Land Management has announced the awarding of the permit for an off-highway vehicle race this spring on BLM land in Uintah County. The permit applicant is listed as Duncan Rowley. The BLM Decision Record states that “the proposed event is a competitive race for off-highway cars, trucks, and UTV’s. All vehicles would operate on approved existing routes. The race would consist of a maximum of 45 vehicles and would complete seven 45.2-mile laps. An estimated 125 spectators would observe the race activities from a designated area on private land. Courses would be marked in advance and all marking materials removed immediately after the event. The event will take place on May 17, 2026. Post-event restoration will include dragging sections of the course to flatten any berms created by the passage of vehicles where applicable.”
