Another application to drill in Uintah County has been approved by the BLM. The BLM Vernal Field Office issued the Environmental Assessment for the Harman Federal 1123 Well Pad, approving the drilling and producing of up to five oil wells which would include construction of a well pad, road, and a pipeline corridor as proposed by the applicant, Anschutz Exploration. The project location is in the Rock House oil and gas Unit on BLM-administered land in Uintah County. The EA states that the applicant would construct an 11.5-acre well pad, a 4,495-foot access road, and a 4,585-foot pipeline corridor. A 6.2-mile temporary surface waterline would be installed for drilling and completion activities but would not require any disturbance. The decision approving the proposed action was signed January 27th.
