The Blacktail and Santaquin Fires were both contained on Wednesday. According to the Dollar Ridge Fire Information Office, the Blacktail Fire started Monday on Blacktail Ridge northwest of Starvation Reservoir. A second small wildfire also started on Blacktail Ridge, named the Blacktail 2 Fire. Both were announced as contained on Wednesday as of
10am
. The Santaquin Fire, located near Santaquin Draw east of Grey Wolf Mountain in Duchesne County was also handled by firefighters and aerial resources from the Dollar Ridge Fire. It was contained today even though dense pockets of juniper and higher temperatures during the day intensified the firefighting effort. The Dollar Ridge Fire had a transfer of command to smaller management thanks to successful containment efforts and a downsizing of incident resources, shares the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office. The Dollar Ridge Fire remained Wednesday at 85 percent contained.
