It may be the most wonderful time of the year with most hearts full of love and service but that doesn’t mean there aren’t grinches lurking about. If you are having packages delivered to your home there are steps to take to avoid being hit by the package grinch. “If you’re expecting a package and won’t be at home, have a neighbor, friend, or family member watch for it,” shares Vernal City Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell. “If left unattended, there are those in society that can’t resist temptation.” Another approach is to have the package mailed to a trusted friend or relative that you know will be home during the day and that can be ready for the package when the doorbell rings. You can also give specific instructions on where to deliver the package, like to the side or back of the house where it is out of sight from the road. Report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement.
