The state of Utah recently announced the finalists for Utah’s 2021 Teacher of the Year and a teacher from Eagle View Elementary is on that short list. Pamela Wright is a 21-year veteran teacher who is currently teaching 4th grade. Wright received her Bachelor of Science from Utah State University, as well as her Master of Education, majoring in Elementary Education.

East Fork Fire Update

The East Fork Fire is still moderately burning. It has burned over 69,000 acres to date and is about 72% contained. Recently, the crews were able to establish hose lays along the Petty Mountain Loop Road and were able to contain all the spot fires near Hells Canyon.

The Bureau of Land Management is asking for the public’s help when areas with graffiti are spotted. “If you notice graffiti, please RECORD it,” shares BLM Utah. “Use your cell phone or digital camera and take a shot of the related damage. Note your location and if possible, your coordinates.

Fatal Motorcycle Accident On Sunday

A crash occurred in Duchesne County on Sunday around 12:40pm which led to a fatality. Utah Highway Patrol to Deseret News reported that a motorcyclist was travelling east on Route 35 with a group of other bikers. He went off the roadway after failing to negotiate a left-hand curve.

Uintah County Announces Closing of Turning Point Shelter

A public service that has helped thousands get back on their feet will no longer be available in Uintah County. Uintah County issued a press release on the topic Monday. “After careful consideration of the current economic, regulatory and health conditions that exist within the State and the County, the Uintah Commission has decided to close down the Turning Point Shelter,” shares Monday’s press release.
