A rural recycling option is now available in Roosevelt City. The Recyclops company uses a tech-driven smart routing app to efficiently gather recycled items from households in rural areas. A Forbes magazine highlight stated that Recyclops serves over 3,500 homes in rural areas across multiple states since its inception in 2014.

Dogs that are off leash while in nature may act on their instincts to chase deer and other big game animals but this is harmful for wildlife because by the end of winter they are often vulnerable and weak from struggling to find food.
It was a relatively uneventful winter ozone season in the Uintah Basin and Bingham Research Center Director Dr. Seth Lyman has declared the 2020-2021 season officially over. “Our monitoring team traditionally counts March 15th as the end of the winter ozone season,” shares Lyman.

Roosevelt native Jordan Matthew Young had his moment to shine on national television Monday night on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ and shine he did. Young’s classic country performance and unique voice were praised for his rendition of Keith Whitley’s “I’m No Stranger To The Rain.” Young has already enjoyed a solid career as a performing musician, reportedly performing 200 shows a year before the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is estimated that one in three homes in Utah have elevated levels of radon and sadly this radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among nonsmokers and the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. In Utah, 25% percent of all lung cancer is caused by exposure to radon.
A local educator is receiving some much deserved recognition. The Utah Educational Library Media Association has named Union High’s Bill Goodrich as the Teacher-Librarian of the Year.
Vernal Theatre: Live is preparing for their 6th and final show of their 5th season and with restrictions lifting, additional events have been announced. ‘The Sound of Music’ will run April 16th through the 24th as the theatre’s 30th production. They’ve done it again! Uintah High School shared on Tuesday that the Uintah High FFA chapter harvested several big wins at state last week, including the election of one of its members as a state FFA officer. Bradley Wilson was elected to serve as the 2021-22 Utah FFA Association State Treasurer.
