As of Thursday, October 21st, TriCounty Health Department reported 8,086 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area to date, an increase of 23 new cases from the day before and reaching a total of 64 deaths to date. According to Thursday’s data, there are currently 690 active cases which continues the downward trend from last week which reported 857.

Inmate Who Escaped Custody in Rock Spring Now Back In Custody
An escaped inmate had people and law enforcement on the lookout throughout the region after escaping police custody in Sweetwater County on Tuesday. 29-year-old John L. Ortega was being transported by private inmate transport vehicle from California to Cheyenne when he managed to slip his restraints and run while at a rest stop in Rock Springs.
