Despite how rural the Uintah Basin is, there are high caliber experiences to be had, even in the arts. The Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus brings the musical talent of the Basin together with national and international acclaimed directors. UBOC includes a 60 member orchestra and a 130 member chorus, performing a Christmas and spring concert. Auditions for both
the orchestra
and the chorus
start August 8th
and go
until August 10th.
For
the orchestra
, be prepared to play a song of your choice for 2 minutes or less. For the chorus prepare a 2 minute or less song of your choice with your own accompanist or a performance tape. Also be prepared to sing the chorus of “America the Beautiful” without accompaniment. There is also a children’s choir for youth ages 8 to 14. To set up an audition time, contact McKenzie Biggler at
