It’s not too soon to start thinking about Christmas with Vernal’s Annual Holly Days just one month away! This year, Ashley Regional Medical Center is adding a new event to the local tradition by hosting a Christmas Charity Village and they are inviting community members and local businesses to join in on building displays and village houses. The vision for the event is ‘A 40’s and 50’s Christmas’. The street next to the hospital will be blocked off and transformed into a Christmas village complete with live reindeer, a snow making machine, local choirs and carolers, live Christmas trees, decorations, village houses, and a horse drawn carriage to top it all off. Community members and local businesses will add to the magic by building displays and village houses which the village visitors will vote for in the form of cans of food and cash donations. The displays with the most votes will win prizes. Ideas for displays include life size gingerbread houses, a North Pole, Nativity, or any Christmas scene that would have existed in the 40s and 50s. Call 435-630-8822 for more information. All food and money raised will go to Ashley Valley Food Pantry and ‘Keeping Love in Communities’.
