“I Pledge to Protect the Past.” Ashley National Forest is helping spread a statewide message to take this pledge to STOP archaeological vandalism. “With more visitors on public lands than ever before, there has been an uptick in vandalism in all landscapes, including archaeological sites,” shares the announcement. “Archaeological sites are fragile and it’s our responsibility to keep them safe for future generations, while allowing lawful access so people can enjoy them today.” All are encouraged to take the pledge online to help stop archaeological vandalism. The pledge program is administered by the Utah Public Archaeology Network and can be linked to through the post on the Ashley National Forest Facebook page.
