The East Fork Fire grew another 196 acres. That brings the total of the acres burned to 2,752 with 5% contained. Those monitoring the fire are letting it burn in the High Uintas Wilderness of the Ashley National Forest, playing its natural role in the ecosystem. That part of the fire will burn until the area receives significant rain or until the snow arrives. For those areas outside of the wilderness, the firefighters are working on firelines and taking the necessary action to minimize the fire growth to the south. Those that are fighting the East Fork Fire have set up base camp at the Centennial Events Center. Ashley National Forest asks that those individuals that are making plans to be in the area near the fire to stay aware of the latest updates. Do not be caught without cell service when there are active evacuations and closures. Also stay safe by alway letting someone know where you are going and when you will return.
