Prescribed burning in the region is common this time of year. The most recent announcement is within the Ashley National Forest where they will be conducting additional pile burns beginning this week. Burn operations may continue through the weekend, depending upon weather conditions. Pile locations include Marsh Bench in the Vernal Ranger District and Mill Park in the Roosevelt/Duchesne Ranger District. “No associated road closures are in effect,” shares the announcement. “However, smoke from the burns may be visible but is not anticipated to impact other activities. Slow down and turn on your headlights if you encounter smoke on the road.” Other recent prescribed burns have taken place with the Argyle and Deer Lodge pile burns.
