A piece of art was recently gifted and delivered to the Ute Indian Tribe Head Start program in Fort Duchesne that holds meaning for all involved. Faculty and students from the University of Utah’s Physician Assistant program gifted the painting “as a gesture of respect and appreciation for the ongoing partnership between the PA Program and the Ute Indian Tribe community. It is a painting from a photograph of Chief White Crow of the Ute Indian Tribe circa 1902 that is archived at the Library of Congress.” The artwork was painted by Don Pederson who has been a longtime PA educator and was the University of Utah PA program’s former leader. The art was recently delivered while the students and faculty spent time with the Head Start staff and children doing physical exams. The painting is now hanging in the Ute Head Start Center.
