A man has been ordered to be held without bail following his arrest in Duchesne County on Sunday morning. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, dispatch was called around 9:20am of an alleged ongoing assault occurring at the corner of 200 West Main Street in Myton. The reporting parties stated that a man was punching and kicking a woman after throwing her to the ground. During this time, the witnesses stated they believed they heard the male utilizing a taser on the female while she screamed for help. The man was able to detain and force the female into his vehicle against her will as she screamed for help and for him to stop. Once the female was inside the vehicle, she attempted to drive away but the male was able to get into the vehicle and stop her. The white four door Ford pickup truck then traveled to 298 West 100 South where it stopped and the man forced the female out of the truck, dragging her on the ground towards a garage north of the residence by her hair and hoodie, slamming her into the ground, and continued beating her. An older man stepped out of the residence to seemingly interdict but he began yelling at the woman. The male suspect then picked up a “board” and “struck her on the back” before reaching for what looked to be a yellow strap and seemingly attempting to wrap it around the female’s neck. It was at this time the older man began yelling at the male suspect. Officers arrived and 37-year-old Mykel Don Felter was quickly detained. The investigation included multiple witness statements as well as video evidence of what happened. EMS responded to provide medical care and confirmed that the victim had sustained injuries. Mykel Felter is charged with 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Kidnapping, 3rd Degree Felony Aggravated Assault, and Disorderly Conduct.
