A man was arrested last week following an investigation into Native American clothing and jewelry reported stolen from a storage unit in Roosevelt last month. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the victim reported that the lock had been removed from her storage unit and bins that contained Native American shawls, fully beaded moccasins, and beaded hair pins, necklaces, and other items were missing. Investigators found that the stolen native clothing and jewelry had been pawned at a local store. The person who sold it was identified and shared that Shane Dixon had given her the items to pawn. On May 1st, 33-year-old Shane Daniel Dixon was interviewed and denied knowing anything about the stolen items. Dixon was arrested and is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Theft and also has a pending felony No Bail warrant out of Millard County. The Affidavit also noted that AP&P had information that Dixon was avoiding law enforcement and was planning to flee to Texas, having sent his truck to Texas in an attempt to make it seem like he wasn’t in the area.
