An armed robbery took place at a Roosevelt convenience store this week. According to Roosevelt Police Chief Rick Harrison, Roosevelt Police responded to an armed robbery call
at 11:45pm
on Christmas Eve at the Top Stop convenience store located at
500 East 200 North in Roosevelt
. “Two men purchased beer from the store, left the store, then returned within a few minutes,” shares Chief Harrison. “One of the men pointed a handgun at the clerk and told her he was taking more beer. The two men took a 30 pack of beer and left without anyone being injured.” Police tracked the pair to a nearby apartment complex. When no one answered the door, a warrant was obtained and officers were able to enter the apartment by force. 35-year-old Rayson Tavapont and 27-year-old Heit Jenks were both taken into custody and booked for Aggravated Robbery and Theft.
