A special conference focused on unity brought together many local Christian congregations over the weekend. The theme of the Vernal Christian Women’s Conference was ‘Community of Unity in Christ’. An inner-faith council planned the event that included special speakers, musical numbers, and a quilting service project. Danette Garrard, a member of the inner-faith council that helped with the planning, estimates that there were 400 women in attendance with almost 700 more watching the conference digitally. Tammy Madsen decided to spend her Saturday at the conference and was touched by the experience. “How wonderful to see that Church congregations in our area have ‘building a relationship with and relying on Christ’ in common,” shared Tammy. “What a beautiful Conference.” The churches represented included but were not limited to the Vernal Seventh-day Adventist Church, Roosevelt Christian Assembly, Kingsbury Community United Church of Christ, Vernal Christian Church, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
