Applications Now Available for Trees For Charity

Ready or not, it’s time to be thinking about Trees for Charity. The Vernal Area Chamber announced this week that applications for this year’s tree spots are available for pick up now at the Chamber office. Securing a spot in Trees for Charity can be competitive with a limited number accepted each year. There will be 40 trees this year, shares Vernal Chamber Director Joel Brown. “They will fill up fast,” shares Brown. “It is such a success year after year due to the generosity of our community.” Even with the slowed economy, generous community members have continued to show support for local charities year after year. Last year’s event raised over $220,000 dollars with a Star Wars themed tree for Corbin Dansie securing the highest bid going for $12,000 dollars only to be put in for a second round in which it sold again for $7,000 dollars. Sixty charities benefitted from last year’s event. Applications won’t be accepted until Wednesday, October 4th at 9:00am.
