An Altamont man was arrested last week after allegedly beating an Autistic 11-year-old boy. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Duchesne County deputies responded to a call but when they arrived at the Altamont address, the accused had left the residence and refused to return. Deputies were told that Simon Bosch was intoxicated and whipped the 11-year-old with a belt, body slammed the child, and then continued to hit him over an issue in the house concerning new beds. The next day Bosch called Dispatch saying he was told officers were looking for him. Deputies met him at the residence in Altamont and Bosch explained that his son would not listen to him and he wrestled him but denied body slamming him or causing other harm. Others in the home confirmed that Bosch had been drinking alcohol the night before and was described as “out of control”. Deputies observed marks on the back and face of the 11-year-old boy as well as bruises on his leg that the boy said were from being hit with a belt. 38-year-old Simon Peter Bosch was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Felony Abuse of a Child with a Disability. He was released with conditions.
