Altamont Longhorn Wrestling Brings Home First 2A State Championship

The Altamont Longhorn Wrestling team team took home their first 2A State Championship this weekend. Overall, the team scored 244 points, with 14 wrestlers placing. Hunter Webb, Wyatt Jessen, and Russell Mitchell each placed third, with Heston Murdock and Macintyre Thacker placing second. McKay Foy and Danny Thompson were the state champions in their respective weights. Other placers include Easton Richins, Tristan Farnsworth, Ren Taylor, Kelten Campbell, Dean Thompson, Carson Sheets, and Cash Robb. Coach Mike Foy was awarded 2A Coach of the Year. Coach Steve Sanderson says, “I’m extremely excited that the kids worked hard enough to win a 2A title. It was incredible.” Congratulations to the Longhorn Wrestling team.
