A Vernal Regional Airport purchase could result in significant savings. Airport Manager Ken Campbell approached the Uintah County Commission on Monday seeking to purchase a line laser painter for about $13,100 dollars. Campbell explained that every 4 years, including this year as the start year, the federal government will cover the cost to seal and paint the airfield, then 2 years later the airport is required to cover the painting of the stripes and that pattern continues. Campbell explained that purchasing the laser painter could result in significant savings since the last quote he received on having the airfield painted was around $77,000 dollars. The Commission approved the purchase of the laser paint machine for the Vernal Regional Airport.
