Aerial Support Joins Dry Fork Fire Suppression Efforts

Several positive things happened with the Dry Fork Fire yesterday. First, Utah Fire Info reported on Wednesday evening that the fire remained in its existing footprint at 24 acres. The decrease is due to more accurate mapping compared to original estimates that the Dry Fork Fire was 30 to 50 acres in size. Second, aerial support utilized water drops to target the north flank of the fire and additional ground resources arrived on site and continued to engage the south, east, and west flanks. The Dry Fork Fire is located east of Red Cloud Loop Road in Uintah County and was called in on Tuesday evening. It is burning on BLM land where no structures are threatened. Crews will continue suppression efforts today.
