While the water search for the missing fisherman in Daggett County has been temporarily suspended, crews continue to do what they can using other modes. According to the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office, Classic Air Medical brought in a helicopter on Thursday to assist in an aerial search. Sheriff’s Office Captain Collett hopes additional teams will be available soon to resume the water search but no date can be set at this time. A man was presumed drowned on January 20th when a truck with boat trailer was backed into the Cedar Springs Marina with the boat floating freely. Daggett County Sheriff’s Office was joined by their Search and Rescue, Uintah County Search and Rescue, Utah Highway Patrol, U.S. Forest Service, and the Division of Wildlife Resources. The Department of Public Safety, Wasatch County and Summit County joined later to assist with the underwater search effort using sonar equipped boats. Great Basin K9 Search and Rescue joined the search before it was temporarily called off due to weather. The Sheriff’s Office will not release the victim’s identity until the search and investigation is complete.
