Advanced Fishing Seminar to Focus on Catching Burbot at Flaming Gorge

by | Jan 2, 2018 | News | 0 comments

Ice fishing season is heating up and cash will line the pockets of those who best master the art of catching burbot on Flaming Gorge this month. An advanced fishing seminar this week offered by the Division of Wildlife Resources and Sportsman’s Warehouse will provide tips that will be especially valuable to those registered for upcoming fishing derbies. “The annual Burbot Bash and Burbot Classic are coming up at the end of January and the start of February,” shares DWR outreach manager Tonya Kieffer. “This will be a great opportunity to get stocked up on the information and gear you need to catch burbot this winter.” Biologists will be teaching the advanced fishing seminar on January 5th. Topics being covered will include ice safety, essential fishing gear, baits and lures, where to go, and tips and techniques for catching burbot and lake trout during the winter months.
