The Fox 98.5FM and Eagle Country 105.5FM radio stations have been promoting Operation Kindness, an initiative to help kids be kind. Heather Batty, a mother and listener, recently shared the difference it has made in her family. In her words:  “I’ve loved what you’re doing and promoting with Operation Kindness! My kids hear it on the radio sometimes and I really feel it’s helped them think differently and see things differently. I have a story for you that I feel has come to fruition because we hear about Operation Kindness a lot and it opens up a lot of conversations about how we treat and respect others.” She goes on to share that her 10 year old son Carter Batty recently moved to a new school and had a fellow student lose their house in a fire. This student’s loss had a deep and meaningful impact and caused him to want to help. He came home and wanted to go to the store immediately to get items for this family. Carter and his mother gathered things around the house and took it to the family, but for Carter it wasn’t enough. The family got some oranges from people in California that told Carter he can do whatever he wanted with them. He decided to sell them as a fundraiser. “He stood out in the freezing cold an entire day and sold them all,” shared his mom. He was able to raise over $2,000 dollars! Way to go Carter Batty for catching the spirit of Operation Kindness and setting an amazing example for us all to look to!
