If service provides its own reward then Diana and Frank Traeger of Duchesne County are swimming in metaphorical trophies. In 2015, the Traegers were new to the Uintah Basin and wanting to find a meaningful way to serve their fellow man. The idea for ‘Your Community Clothing Room’ was born. The idea was simple. They would volunteer their time and what resources they could to provide free clothing to anyone who wanted it, no questions asked. They put out a request for donations and were overwhelmed with the response. Next, a donor gave them the RV they operate out of today and they were off. They donate over 60 hours of time every week keeping the operation running and reaching as many people in the Basin as possible. Donations are accepted at Lapoint Country Store, Simper Supply in Vernal, Glass Works in Roosevelt, and RC Tire in Duchesne. Donations of good clean clothing, bed linens, blankets, and towels are accepted. The RV has clothing for newborns up to plus size adults and all are welcome to check it out. It is in Myton, Duchesne, and Altamont the first Thursday of every month and in Vernal, Lapoint, and Roosevelt the second and fourth Thursdays of every month. More details are available on the Facebook page: ‘Your Community Clothing Room – Uintah Basin.’ If you see the RV, please come take a look and give Diana and Frank a much deserved Thank You for selflessly serving the Basin!
