Roosevelt City Airport Update

A Roosevelt City Airport update was given during the Roosevelt City council meeting in January. Airport manager Kirby Wolfinjer shared that they are working towards repairs and upgrades to the AWOS system at the airport and that the project has to follow federal standards in order to qualify for grant funding. The funding only is available if the entire system is replaced. The system is needed to keep people coming to the airport. Without a functional system the airport will stop getting flights. Finance officer Rhonda Goodrick gave a report on the airport budget stating that at that point they were at 123 percent of budgeted revenues for the year while hangar rentals were only at 7 percent of expected revenues for the year. Billing for hangar rentals had been suspended due to a broken door but a lease agreement is being written for the city attorney and council to review.
