The Uinta Basin Railway received final approval from the federal Surface Transportation Board and Representative Blake Moore made it clear he is happy about the decision. “I am thrilled that the Surface Transportation Board has given their stamp of approval for this crucial project, which will bring tremendous economic opportunities to the Basin, the Ute Tribe, and the entire state of Utah,” shared Moore. “I have fought hard for this railway; ensuring we can bring this infrastructure to the Basin has been one of my major priorities since I was elected. After hours of site visits, stakeholder meetings, and calls with agency officials, I am pleased that the project can now move forward and am confident in the positive impacts the Uinta Basin Railway—the largest privately funded rail project in decades—will have on the region.”
