It’s been a devastating week for the Roosevelt community after an elementary student was fatally wounded in an auto/pedestrian accident. Roosevelt City Police Department issued a press release on Thursday sharing the following: At approximately 3:40 p.m. on December 7th, 2021, a 10-year-old male child was struck by a car while crossing 100 South at State Street in Roosevelt. The child was struck by an SUV traveling west on 100 South. The parents of the child were notified and the child was taken by ambulance to Uintah Basin Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. The child’s name will not be released. Duchesne County School District informed families of the district through a message on Wednesday noting that the victim was a 5th grader at Kings Peak Elementary.
