Roosevelt City knows how to ring in the New Year in style. Can you picture yourself ice skating with friends and family while watching fireworks? Well that opportunity is just a few weeks away on December 31st at Constitution Park in Roosevelt City. Mayor JR Bird shares that this is the third year the city will have an ice skating rink and the second year the skating will kickoff in conjunction with the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. It’s also the kickoff to the annual Winterfest festivities that last throughout the month of January. “The main purpose of our events is to bring the community together and enjoy some wholesome recreational opportunities when it is cold and there’s not a lot to do,” says Mayor Bird. More information on Winterfest events will be announced in the coming weeks.
