Fire Prevention Week: Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety

by | Oct 7, 2021 | News | 0 comments

Its national Fire Prevention Week and Uintah County Fire Marshal Jeremy Raymond is spreading the word. This year’s theme is ‘Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety’ but what does that mean? Raymond explains: when you hear the smoke alarm going off what do you do? 3 loud beeps mean smoke is in the house, 4 loud beeps means carbon monoxide, and chirping means the device has a low battery. Put fresh batteries in the alarms every 6 months. If you have heavy smoke or Carbon Monoxide, get out of the home and call 9-1-1. Families are invited to come down to the Uintah County building to pick up a bag of items to help families to participate in Fire Prevention Week. Kids will enjoy great prizes, activity books, and more. For more information and resources, visit www.nfpa.org
