A fatal auto pedestrian crash took place early Wednesday morning near Duchesne. According to the report from the Department of Public Safety, a 59-year-old Colorado man was outside his vehicle directing a backing maneuver of a co-worker who was operating a semi-truck on Highway 87 at approximately 3:05am. A second semi-truck that was traveling north on Highway 87 did not see the man directing traffic and struck him. “The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene,” shares the report. “The pedestrian was not wearing any reflective clothing. Lanes were closed at the intersection for approximately 2 hours for the crash investigation.” The accident took place at milepost 3.5 at the 6000 South intersection on Highway 87.
