The Lapoint-Tridell Fire Department is better prepared thanks to a generous donation from the Bureau of Land Management Green River District. The BLM has donated a Ford F450 Wildland Fire Engine to the Lapoint-Tridell Fire Department as part of the Rural Fire Readiness program. The BLM shares in a press release that Rural Fire Readiness is an equipment transfer program that streamlines the process for the BLM to transfer no longer needed firefighting equipment to local partners in vital areas that benefit BLM’s wildland fire mission. “The Lapoint-Tridell Fire Department has been a great support to the Green River District and its ability to mitigate fire danger and damage,” shares the BLM. “Often time, these volunteers who are closest to the incident are able to react and get to the scene sooner and are able to control the activity.” Lapoint-Tridell Fire Chief Tyler McKee says, “This is what makes the Uintah Basin awesome. The connections between federal, state, local, and tribal. We have great relationships because we work together all of the time.”
