Fire restrictions on the Ashley National Forest are officially lifted as of midnight on August 20th. When restrictions were announced, the public was promised conditions would be monitored and restrictions lifted as soon as it was considered safe. “Based on the monsoonal moisture received throughout the Forest, fuel moistures have reached levels that warrant the lifting of fire restrictions but may be required again depending on future weather conditions.” Follow the Ashley National Forest Facebook page for current information about Forest activities and closures.
