A dream five years in the making is getting much deserved attention in Duchesne County. On Thursday, KSL featured the epic Harry Potter play house in Duchesne that stands out from far distances thanks to its distinct castle style towers rising far above the family’s home on the same plot of land. Wade Poulson’s creation is 2,000 square feet and required proper approvals through planning, zoning, and city council meetings. KSL shares that the finished product has a dungeon on the lowest level with a 40-foot tunnel from there to the second floor with stairs that then lead to the ‘Great Hall’ on the third floor. Above that is the ‘Gryffindor Dormitory’ on the fourth floor, the library on the fifth floor, a spiral staircase up to the sixth floor, tower rooms on the seventh floor, and then the top where a 70-foot slide provides a quick exit. Poulson’s kids love their castle but the family also loves to share it with others who come to experience the magic. Poulson’s drive to complete the project was simply to enjoy time with his children. He has a terminal illness that will likely require a liver transplant at some point and decided to make as many magical memories with his family as possible while he can.
