Ashley National Forest announced Wednesday the closure of Rock Creek Road due to debris flow and work to clear it will begin once the rain stops. “Under current conditions and with more rain expected it poses a safety hazard for equipment operators to begin at this time,” shared the announcement. Additional weather warnings continue through today. In Duchesne County, widespread moderate to heavy rainfall are expected, along with some strong to severe thunderstorms. Flash flooding, hail, and strong gusty winds affected areas including Rockcreek and Blind Stream on Wednesday. Some areas of high elevation are expected to receive snow with showers and thunderstorms continuing through at least Thursday, maintaining some potential for locally heavy rain. Always be mindful that heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding and debris flows are possible near recent burn scars.
