Uintah Basin Healthcare continues to urge the community to take the threat of COVID-19 seriously as cases continue to spike in the Uintah Basin. A 25 minute Q&A video was put together and shared this week featuring the Uintah Basin Healthcare team that serves on the front lines of COVID-19. As a Pharmacist and the Pharmacy Manager at Uintah Basin Medical Center, Weston Weaver answered questions about the vaccine, stating that the vaccine is effective for the Delta variant and that while break through cases are expected among the vaccinated, those choosing not to get the vaccine are much sicker and dying at a much higher rate. The other leaders on the panel also shared in answering questions, all expressing the seriousness of what they have witnessed. “I look into the eyes of my patients when we are talking to them about intubating them, and they’re terrified,” shared Nurse Practitioner Audrie Wisell(Wiz-ell). “They’re saying goodbye to their families, not knowing if they’re coming back.” To view the entire video that provides answers to the most common questions, visit the Uintah Basin Healthcare Facebook page.
