Our lives are filled with unsung heroes. People doing what they need to so that the parts of our lives we don’t think about are taken care of. The Dinosaur National Monument is redeeming such omissions by introducing a new series of posts on their Facebook. They are calling the series ‘Park Heroes’. Two of the first posts feature Ranger Q. He functions in multiple capacities including estimating costs for projects, tracking labor, making sure everyone gets paid, maintains fleet data, and assists with reporting fuel, energy, and water consumption. Around the park he is an Ally for Inclusion, a Health & Wellness team leader, monitors air quality and weather, and sometimes leads hikes. Another highlighted individual is Devin. He plows the parking lots, cleans the restrooms and keeps the quarry in good shape. If you have made it to the visitor center in the winter it was because of him. Be sure to check the site and get to know the faces that make Dinosaur National Monument special.
