It’s the final week of Fishing with the Fox and there are still tags to be pulled out of the water for the chance to win prizes including a big cash prize. If you don’t think you can hit the water before the winners are drawn there are two individuals that will be glad you stayed home. Vern Combs and Gil Limb take Fishing with the Fox seriously as their focus on almost a daily basis is to “help control the worm population” by hitting Steinaker at 5am in pursuit of tagged fish. About halfway through July these two had about 25 tags between the two of them and almost as many hilarious sayings. Vern and Gil have a list of reasons why the Fishing with the Fox contest exists and top of the list is it “makes doing nothing look really important.” If you haven’t taken time this summer for some fishing, get out there and give Vern and Gil some competition before Fishing with the Fox wraps up. It runs through August 1st and tagged fish are located in Moon Lake, Moose Pond, and Steinaker Reservoir. To participate, just catch a tagged fish, register the information online and be entered for the ‘Alive After Five’ grand finale prize drawing! The prize drawing will occur on Thursday, August 5th from 5 to 8pm at the Uintah County Library park. You must be present to win OR register an alternative person to represent you at the event.
