While it may be hard to believe, the smoke hovering in the air the last few days is not from any local fires. According to National Weather Service, the smoky skies in eastern Utah is from wildfires in California, Oregon, Idaho, and Washington. “Wildfire smoke has become trapped in the valleys of eastern Utah and western Colorado underneath an inversion,” shared National Weather Service over the weekend. “While some of this smoke will mix out as the temperature warms [during the day], additional pushes of smoke are likely over the next few days.”
